Isla Nublar: Attractions (Part 2)

22 - Isla Nublar Expedition
(Height: 46")
Guests go on a jeep ride through Jurassic World, seeing all of the dinosaurs in the area. However, things take a turn for the worse when predators escape and must find their way to safety.

QUEUE:
Near the discovery center is where the ride is advertised. Here, guests will enter into a large building and travel through genetic labs. Here, they can see how the Jurassic dinosaurs are created. Using DNA extracted from petrified mosquitoes, scientists use many complex methods, and a little of genetic fusion, to recreate dinosaurs. These scenes are narrated by Mr. DNA.

After going through these rooms, guests will wait outside some doors. Here, they see Henry Wu's test lab, where several of his genetically modified dinosaurs, such as the Indominus Rex and the Indoraptor, are displayed through computer screens.

PRE-SHOW:
Guests exit the labs and enter into a circular room with a statue of John Hammond (the founder of Jurassic Park) in the center. There is also a large screen behind him, which guests look at.

Here, guests receive a welcome to Jurassic World. They are told the history of the park, as well as its unsuccessful predecessor, Jurassic Park. They are then revealed to be going on a jeep tour of the island, and so they introduce their host, Dr. Lisa Samson. However, when the screen turns on, we are introduced to another woman. She explains that she is not Dr. Samson, but her apprentice, Marsha. Samson is busy with something else at the moment, so she has asked Marsha to lead the expedition instead. She gives a quick safety spiel before the screen goes up, revealing a secret passage.

From this passage, guests enter the loading area. Here, they board blue six-person jeeps (an EMV ride vehicle, similar to those used on Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland.) They store their belongings in pouches and then strap themselves into the vehicle.

RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The ride begins rather gently. It moves outside and goes through a jungle path, going through Jurassic World gates. They move past a stegosaurus and her baby, and then past some braciosauruses eating leaves. They also pass through an aquarium, where they see the mosasaurus swim by.

However, things get intense real quick. As they go through a tunnel, they are informed that Wu's genetic hybrids have escaped their paddocks and are running amok in the park. If that wasn't bad enough, five other predators have escaped too. Marsha instructs the vehicles to come back to the loading station, but before they can, they exit the tunnel and enter a jungle, where they find a T-Rex nearby. The vehicles turn to the right and speed up, footsteps and roaring creating the illusion that the T-Rex is chasing them.

The jeeps take safety in a containment area, but they are not alone. A dilophosaurus is in there, and it spits at guests as they move by. They pass by Owen Grady, who is keeping Blue the raptor from attacking. He tells them to get out while they still can, which they obey.

While passing over a bridge, guests see a pteradons on both sides, getting ready to swoop in and snatch them. Luckily, they make it over the bridge before they can get them. Then, they come across a baryonyx, They escape it by going through a tunnel.

Then, they enter a field where the Indoraptor stands from atop a crashed truck. It roars as the jeeps pass by and head into the jungle. However, the Indominus Rex appears and looks at the guests menacingly. The jeeps stop and try to go back (even though it's actually the scene that is moving away from them.) Then, the T-Rex from earlier appears. The two dinosaurs growl at each other before the jeeps plunge into darkness.

After coming up on the other side, the jeeps have finally made it back to the safety of the park. There, they pass by Marsha, Owen, and Blue. Marsha asks the guests not to tell Dr. Samson about this, even though Owen says "no promises."

POST-RIDE:
Guests get off the vehicle and follow a passageway into the Discovery Center. This building contains a gift shop called Jurassic Souvenirs, where gifts are sold and ride photos are displayed.

23 - Jurassic World Discovery Center
Inside a pyramid-like structure is where guests can learn about dinosaurs. Here, they can pick up on educational facts, take quizzes, see fossils, and even play some interactive games. They can also see the dinosaur nursery, where they can watch eggs hatch from time to time.
